First sit on top kayak now made from composite

Tim Niemier here. I designed my first sit on top kayak in 1971 and used to dive, surf, and cruise with it.

This is the new kayak that does the same stuff. Faster and sleeker with big hatches for dive tanks and other gear--and little more gray hair.

When the south swell hit Malibu we surfed Little Dume off of Point Dume.

Now I made a new kayak like the original but out of this new material called thermo lite composite that only weighs 43 pounds. It doesn't stink like the fiberglass did and it is recycleable. The flanges that attach the two halves keep the spray down very well.

The new boat paddles really well and beat a bunch of sea kayaks in a race a few weeks ago.

This boat surfs just like the old one in smaller waves. I can't wait to get out in the big stuff.

Here is the new logo. The website is www.pacifikayaks.com, but we're working on a new one. It is like deja vu all over again.

Hi Tim!
Welcome to the world of blogging. Your pix are well spaced between short bits of text. Nicely readable. Looks good.
May you have much success and lots of converts.
best,
Dawn
